These jobs require a bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, software engineering or network design. These opportunities require several years of successful IT implementation and or design experience. These positions require the ability to work after normal business hours and on weekends because testing new systems cannot be done during normal business hours. The deployment manger candidate must possess several years of varied IT-related experience, excellent communication skills, oral and written, work with little to no supervision and have the ability to meet strict deadlines.


The deployment manager is responsible for ensuring that hardware and software systems are fully deployed, implemented and functioning. They are responsible for the planning of the roll-out process and sequence of new systems and platforms. This includes all IT-related systems, communication systems and, in some cases, IT-driven security systems. In many instances the deployment manager must also prepare engineering plans, instructions, mapped IT system diagrams and installation technical design packages. Deployment managers work with all IT-related professionals and manage the deployment process. They are responsible for the going-live phase of the project. They must communicate with all departments as to the progress of the project.

The deployment manager must have the ability to travel and must have strong project management or supervisory skills. He will be in charge of the deployment and connected IT staff, and he must supervise, review and evaluate their work product.
